The Educational Innovation and Enablement (EIE) team will be hosting several drop-in sessions and workshops from 9 February to support staff with preparations for teaching in Trimester 1 and Autumn session.
Sessions include Faculty L&T and AI Drop-ins for teaching staff, DIY video studio walkthroughs, and a gen AI L&T World Café.

- Select your UOW personal email from the dropdown list
- Type "Educational-Excellence@uow.edu.au"
This calendar will now appear in your calendar list in Outlook and you can view the sessions and how they fit with your personal schedule.
Drop-in One-on-Ones with L&T Specialists
Kick off Trimester 1 and Autumn with practical, on-the-spot L&T support from the Educational Innovation and Enablement (EIE) team. These drop-in sessions are designed for quick questions and one-on-one hands-on guidance for:
- Teaching activities and learning environment design (e.g. Moodle site and assessment setup)
- Use of educational technologies and tools for teaching (including gen AI)
- General learning and teaching queries
Both online and on-campus versions of these drop-ins will be available.
Who should attend?
New and returning subject coordinators, tutors, and anyone preparing to teach from Q1 onwards. Whether you are just getting started, want guidance or feedback, or are looking for ideas for teaching activities, approaches, or site design, drop in, and we will help you accordingly.

Workshop facilitators from last year’s Putting Gen AI into Practice event will be available for informal drop-in conversations about AI in learning and teaching. If you would like help getting started with Gen AI and agents, want advice for your teaching, or have questions about ethical and responsible use of AI in assessment and learning activities, feel free to stop by.
This relaxed, open-door session is an opportunity to:
- Explore ideas
- Get guidance on practical first steps
- Ask discipline-specific or scenario-based questions
- Clarify expectations around ethical and appropriate use of AI in L&T
- Get pointers to tools, resources and examples aligned to your needs

L&T Workshops
Join us for a fast-paced, hands-on World Café focused on live demonstrations of generative AI tools available within UOW’s learning platform and supported digital ecosystem.
The session will showcase short 10-minute demonstrations of how these tools can be used for learning, teaching and assessment, ask questions, and gather practical ideas you can apply in your subjects this year.
Stations will showcase tools such as:
- Copilot for educators
- AI features in Padlet
- AI-enabled FeedbackFruits for feedback and engagement
- Resume360 and Interview360 for employability-aligned activities
- The Library’s Primo Research Assistant
Whether you are new to gen AI or already experimenting, this session highlights practical, supported tools and current use cases for learning and teaching at UOW.

Online World Café: Gen AI in Practice at UOW - Registration
Join video producers from the Educational Innovation and Enablement team for a walkthrough of DIY video studios that UOW teaching staff can access to develop digital learning resources for their teaching practice.
The session will provide an overview of various L&T use cases and live demonstrations of both the DIY Video Studio and Lightboard Studio.
