Learning Platform reports

Note: This article is part of the Learning analytics collection.

Moodle Reports are an integral source for learning analytics in the Learning Platform. They serve as a looking glass into your online learning environment, offering valuable insights into the various interactions within your subject site. Moodle reports can help you understand how your students are engaging with the subject while keeping track of their overall performance and progress.

Why?

Moodle Reports have broad applications which can help you and your teaching team gain meaningful perspectives into your student cohort. These include:
  • Helping to develop an understanding of your cohort, which can aid in designing learning experiences that best meet the diverse needs of your students.
  • Monitoring student interactions with the various activities and resources in your subject site. By understanding how and when students are engaging with the subject content, you can identify patterns, track progress, and spot potential issues in real-time. This can guide your decision-making when it comes to adapting subject materials or providing extra support.
  • Accessing data on student performance in graded activities, which can provide a nuanced comprehension of each student's academic strengths and areas for improvement. These insights can inform your feedback strategies, help you tailor additional resources, and support students in reflecting and setting goals.
Note: : For more information on how to best make use of these insights, refer to the Acting on your learning analytics data article.
