Brickfield Accessibility Toolkit

The University of Wollongong is committed to fostering inclusive learning and teaching environments and experiences. Integrated into our Learning Platform, the Brickfield Accessibility Toolkit provides educators "a toolkit to help find the existing issues with the content, fix the issues automatically, and provide interfaces to triage the remainder" (Brickfield Education Labs, 2023).

Designing inclusive and accessible environments and experiences is an iterative process. While considering accessibility from the outset is almost always desirable in terms of outcomes and efficiency, remediation is often required.

Keeping accessibility best practices in mind and leveraging existing tools such as the Microsoft Accessibility checkers can help minimise the need for later intervention. The Adding and organising content collection includes articles to support inclusive and accessible practices.

To access Brickfield features, you first need to submit your site for analysis.

Note: Once submitted for initial analysis, a regular update is submitted to include any changes made to your site automatically in the reports and wizards without the need for re-running the analysis.
