Recording with EchoVideo Universal Capture or Browser Capture

EchoVideo allows educators at UOW to record videos to strengthen student understanding of subject content. In addition to being used in teaching spaces for lecture capture, EchoVideo provides two other options for recording on individuals computers; Universal Capture and Browser Capture (sometimes referred to as In-Browser Capture). Both tools provide educators with the ability to easily record the output from screen capture, audio, and a connected webcam.

A detailed comparison that may be used to determine which tool is most appropriate for your context can be found in the EchoVideo support article EchoVideo: In-Browser Capture vs. Universal Capture.

Why?

Incorporating educator-created videos into a subject site can enhance student engagement and learning. Additional information about the potential benefits and some considerations is available in the L&T Hub article, Adding your own videos to a subject site.

EchoVideo Universal Capture and In-Browser Capture recordings can be easily uploaded to an EchoVideo class or personal library. Videos can then be edited, where required, and made available to students.

To make videos more accessible, EchoVideo will automatically be transcribed by AI and if a specific accuracy threshold is met, the transcript will be pushed to the video captions as well.
