renAIssance
Renewing education for an AI-enabled future
There are many ways the UOW community can get involved in the renAIssance Program throughout the year. Opportunities may include joining a Think Tank, becoming a Champion, participating in a forum or focus group, attending an event, being part of a community of practice, co-designing and exploring new ideas, sharing practice, or applying for a grant.
This page brings together current Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and related opportunities to engage across the renAIssance Program in one place. While further information about each initiative is available on the relevant project pages, this page provides a central location for viewing open EOIs and other invitations to get involved.
We encourage you to bookmark this page and check back regularly, as more opportunities to connect, contribute, and collaborate will be added throughout the year.
Help Shape the Future of Learning and Assessment at UOW
Student Partner – Learning and Assessment Futures (3 Paid Roles)
The UOW renAIssance program is looking for three paid Student Partners to work with staff on projects exploring learning, assessment and AI.
What you will do
Across the program, you may be involved in:
- taking part in the Provocation Series and Think Tank sessions
- sharing your perspective on learning, assessment and AI
- helping shape frameworks, resources and student-facing materials
- gathering feedback from other students
- contributing to summaries, communications, and project outputs.
Key activities and commitment
Your main involvement will begin with the Assessment Reimagined project:
- May: attend 8 Provocation Series sessions
Each session is 2 hours, with around 1 hour of preparation and reflection. Estimated commitment: around 8-10 hours per week during May - June: attend 4 half day Think Tank sessions
This includes some additional preparation, reflection, and support for gathering student perspectives. Estimated commitment: around 10 hours per week during the first 2 weeks of June
There will be opportunities to contribute to other renAIssance projects for the remainder of the year. Workload will be structured to fit alongside study commitments.
Who should apply?
We want to hear from students across all faculties, campuses and study modes, including undergraduate, postgraduate, online, regional, and equity cohort students. No prior experience is needed. We are looking for students who are curious, thoughtful, collaborative, and interested in helping shape change at UOW.
Interested? Complete the Student Partnerships – Learning and Assessment Futures expression of interest form (link opens in new tab).
Applications close on 27 April, with outcomes communicated before the end of the month. The first event will take place on 5 May.
Assessment Reimagined Provocation Series
The Provocation Series marks the starting point for Assessment Reimagined, an open invitation to rethink the very role and purpose of assessment in a world deeply shaped by artificial intelligence. More than a sequence of presentations, the series is designed as a strategic catalyst for shared sense-making across the university. It creates space to challenge inherited assumptions, test new ideas, and broaden perspectives before moving into more focused synthesis and model development.
