The Educational Innovation and Enablement (EIE) team, within the Educational Excellence Unit, works alongside UOW academic leaders and educational specialists to design and deliver professional learning for academic staff. These opportunities support staff to explore and embed quality learning and teaching (L&T) practices, evolving pedagogies and technologies, and pathways for innovation, recognition and excellence.

Whether you are new to teaching or an experienced educator at the university, L&T professional learning supports connection and engagement through exploration, inquiry, reflection, experimentation and sharing. Offerings range from hands-on interactive workshops and quick-win sessions to webinars, programs and drop-ins, with sessions advertised throughout the year to support educational excellence.

To provide an indication of the nature and format of these sessions, the following video showcases a recent generative AI Learning and Teaching event hosted by the team: Putting Gen AI into Practice (Learning, Teaching, and Educational Innovation)

Assessment Reimagined
May 2026 Assessment Reimagined Provocation Series

Throughout May 2026, as part of the renAIssance program, this curated series of eight Assessment Reimagined Provocation sessions brought together leading national and international thinkers in assessment, pedagogy, and AI. Open to all UOW staff across all campuses, the recorded series invites the university community to rethink the role and purpose of assessment in an AI-shaped world. Each session is designed to surface tensions, challenge assumptions, and explore future-facing possibilities for assessment that better support learning and student success.
