Moodle Gradebook

The Gradebook is used to manage marks for activities that have grading enabled in your subject site. In the Gradebook you can view and edit marks, import or manually enter grades for assessment tasks conducted outside of the online learning environment, sort items into grade categories, add weightings to grades and calculate totals.

It has benefits for both staff and students:

  • The Gradebook gives an organised and professional impression of the subject and provides clarity and transparency in marking for teaching staff and students.
  • Data from the Gradebook can be imported into SMP to facilitate marking workflow efficiencies.
  • Students are able to see within the learning environment their marks for graded tasks, without having to log into SOLS to see the marks; this is via the Grades link in the side panel navigation menu in the subject site.
  • The Gradebook provides automated reporting options, including exporting data in a variety of formats.
